Gunner's doing work!

Yesterday, Josh and I went out to the field for a bit with Gunner.  I wanted to get some nice pictures of him and I wanted to see just what  he could do.  It was my crashcourse in dog training if you will.  I really enjoyed it though and think I could do it... well, going to have to do it.  I will be training Smalls and Josh will be training Pip.  My little guy Smalls is going to win all of the competitions!!  (;-)  Haha!

Hahaha, have to share this- as I'm writing this, Josh says, "Honey, just remember, I may only teach you what I want to teach you."  I said, "that's ok because I know how to read".  A little friendly competition is healthy!  I know I am excited to start training.  (My dog is still going to be awesome!)

Welcome to our blog!!

Well folks, we're jumping into this new adventure of dog breeding!!!  Last night, my husband and I decided that we are going to give this a go and start taking the steps to learn how to properly breed our favorite breed of dog- German Shorthair Pointers.  After a bit of discussion, Aspen Leaf Kennels was born, a domain name was purchased (http://www.aspenleafkennels.com/), and our first member of the Kennel Club was named- Aspen Leaf Nuttin' Special.  We're going to call her Pip (a Synonym of Nut which is what Josh wanted to call her). 

She is the beautiful baby from Cash {Blue Briar's Johnny Cash}  and Bella {Bindy and Crosswinds Truckin Fritz} from Blue Briar Kennels.

We get to go pick her up next weekend and we are sooo excited!  Bringing her home really does kickoff this adventure and we invite you to 'Follow' our blog, 'Like' us on Facebook, and get to know who we are as a family, and as a Kennel.
